Dr. Jose has thirty-five years of research experience specialized in species recovery research of endemic and threatened plants of the Western Ghats with an emphasis on ecological restoration of species. His current interest includes the standardization of sustainable harvesting methods and plantation technology of Jiggat species (Persea macrantha and Litsea spp.), which are used extensively in the agarbathi industry.
