Project: Strengthening of Tissue culture Lab
(Under the Annual Action Plan 2018-2019 of BTSG – KFRI)
Background:
Provision is made in the Operational Guidelines of NBM for establishing infrastructure and facilities for various activities such as propagation and utilization of bamboo. Since micro propagation of bamboo is one of the major activities of the Biotechnology Department and production of bamboo platelets will supplement the activities of Bamboo nurseries strengthening of the existing facilities is envisaged under the AAP.
Objectives:
- To strengthen the facilities of the existing TC lab in the Department by replacing/repairing/servicing old equipment and adding equipment.
Expected output:
- A refurbished and updated tissue culture facility to undertake micropropagation of priority bamboo species.
