Project: Big Bamboo Nursery
(Under the Annual Action Plan 2018-2019 of BTSG – KFRI)
Background:
Nurseries under different categories are supported by National Bamboo Mission through their Annual Action Plan. Big Nursery of 1 ha, category was proposed for BTSG KFRI for the year and approval obtained.
Objectives:
- To upgrade the Bamboo Nurseries by adding to and improving the existing facilities.
- Produce bamboo planting stock of priority species using various methods.
Expected output:
- A model bamboo nursery for demonstration to trainees and visitors.
- Production of high quality bamboo planting stocks of important commercial bamboo species.
