JNTBGRI under Kerala State Council for Science, Technology & Environment (KSCSTE) maintains diverse bamboo species and their different hereditary lines along with records of their pheno-events such as growth, flowering, fruiting, death and details on progenies. A Crafts Centre is being set up at JNTBGRI Campus at Palode, Thiruvananthapuram District.

Kerala State Bamboo Corporation Ltd. (KSBC), the Public Sector Undertaking set up by Government of Kerala has been promoting Bamboo sector for more than four decades. KSBC is manufacturing bamboo boards, bamboo ply, tiles and they are also involved in trading of bamboo, reed, cane and rattan products.
